The removable prosthesis is aimed at replacing a part or the entire dental arch
and can be removed by the patient in order to perform the ordinary daily hygiene maneuvers.
Generally, they are composed of artificial
teeth fixed on a resin structure that rests on the gum. Removable dentures can be complete,
i.e. replace all the teeth in the upper or lower jaw, or partial,
used to replace only some missing teeth.
This type of dental prosthesis is removable and can be easily cleaned and repaired
by the dentist if necessary.
Removable dentures are often considered an inexpensive solution
to replace missing teeth, but they may require an adjustment period and require
adequate oral hygiene to avoid infection or irritation of the underlying gum.
Conservative dentistry
Conservative dentistry is a branch of restorative dentistry that deals with the care of teeth affected by carious processes, procedures for the elimination of caries and those relating to the closure of cavities resulting from the elimination of enamel and carious dentin, through the use of specific materials. This means that conservative dentists try to preserve the original tooth tissue whenever possible, instead of extracting or replacing damaged or diseased teeth. For example, conservative dentistry aims to prevent and treat dental caries, traumatic injuries or dental fractures, through conservative techniques such as the use of fillings, dental resins, endodontic rehabilitation (i.e. dental nerve care interventions) and other non-invasive solutions.
Pedodontics
Pedodontics treats children’s dental diseases through techniques that are more suitable for their needs. It is usually believed that milk teeth do not require care and checks, but this is not the case as they cover various important functions. Since the oral health of children is essential for their general development, the pedodontist has specific training able to meet the needs of each pediatric patient, in terms of clinical, psychological and relational approach. The basic activities of pedodontics include the accurate assessment of the child’s dental health status through a preventive visit and interventions for the prevention and treatment of dental pathologies, such as teeth cleaning, dental fillings, tooth extraction from milk, endodontic therapy, pediatric orthodontics, the treatment of dental malocclusions and the planning of periodic interventions to evaluate and maintain dental health. In general, in fact, pedodontics strives to make children’s dental experience as positive and trauma-free as possible, providing a comfortable and reassuring environment for childhood and respecting their need for understanding, affection and play.
Pathologies Surgical endodontics
Surgical endodontics refers to the branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of lesions of endodontic origin that do not respond to conventional endodontic therapy or that cannot be treated with conventional endodontic therapy but can only be reached through a surgical flap.
